Overheard my neighbor complain about her $800 grocery bill and it clicked
She was saying how she can't save anything on a teacher's salary, but then mentioned she buys organic everything and name-brand snacks. Made me realize I've been clipping digital coupons for 6 months now and my weekly total dropped from $120 to $85. Anyone else find one big habit like that to cut?

God yes this hits hard. I had the same realization a couple years ago when I saw my neighbor drop $200 on prepared meal kits every week. For me the big cut was switching to generic/store brand stuff for like 90% of my groceries. Turns out the store brand cereal and pasta taste exactly the same and cost half as much lol. Also started buying meat in bulk when it's on sale and freezing it, that alone saved me like $30 a week. It's wild how those little pricey habits add up without you even noticing.

Generic brands are a lifesaver, seriously. I switched to store brand ketchup and honestly couldn't tell the difference, but my wallet sure did. Also started doing a big batch of chili or soup once a week with whatever meat or veggies were on sale. Freezes great and cuts down on impulse takeout nights. That meal kit neighbor thing is a trap, paying for convenience you can do yourself in 10 minutes.

Huh, that neighbor thing reminds me of my buddy who spent a fortune on those juice cleanses. He looked miserable. I'll stick with my store brand spaghetti, thanks.
