My grocery store loyalty card was lying to me for 2 years
I always thought I was getting these great deals with my store card at Kroger. Then last month I actually sat down and compared my receipts to the regular shelf prices. Turns out I was paying $0.50 more for milk every time because the 'sale' price was just the regular price at the store down the road. Has anyone else caught their local store doing this stuff?

It's wild how many places do stuff like this, it's basically legalized lying with a smile lol. Whole system is designed to make you feel like you're winning when you're really just paying the standard price with extra steps.

Whole system is designed" is a stretch @the_john, this is just basic pricing strategy.

People are acting like Kroger is scamming them out of retirement savings over 50 cents on milk. I worked retail for a bit and price differences between stores are normal, they set prices based on their own costs and competition. The loyalty card still gets you the sale price at that store, nobody promised it was the cheapest price in the entire city. If you're that worried about milk prices, just buy it at the other store. This whole outrage feels like people looking for something to be mad about.
