My emergency fund saved me from a $400 vet bill last month
My dog got sick on a Sunday, and I was able to pay the urgent care fee without touching my regular checking account. How much do you guys keep in your emergency fund for pet stuff?

Wish I could say the same. My emergency fund is basically a coffee can with a picture of a sad dog taped to it. I keep maybe a hundred bucks in there, which covers a new toy or a bag of treats. Last time my cat had a weird cough, I had to put the vet visit on a credit card and eat ramen for a week. I'm not good at this.

But what if you're better at this than you think? Having that hundred bucks set aside for your pet is a real start, and using the card for a true emergency is actually pretty smart. You're doing the hard part, which is paying attention to the problem at all.
