My debit card got declined at Aldi for a $23 cart of groceries and I finally made a real plan
A couple months ago I was at the Aldi on 8th street and my card got declined on a $23 order, and the lady behind me just stared while I put stuff back. I had money in my account but my autopay bills all hit the same two days, so the balance was basically zero when I swiped. That night I wrote down every bill due date on a notepad and split my paycheck into a bills account and a spending account at my credit union. Now I move grocery money over every Friday and I have not been short since. How do you all handle bills that land on the same date?
Sure beats my system of swiping and praying while pretending to check my phone. Splitting the check into two accounts is smart, autopay hitting the same day is a silent killer.
