I accidentally started a bidding war over a used lawnmower on Facebook Marketplace
I was just trying to replace my old mower after it finally gave out last Saturday. I saw a listing for a self-propelled Troy-Bilt for 60 bucks and figured I'd offer 50. The seller messaged me back saying someone else offered 55, so I said 60. Then he says another guy just bid 65. I'm standing in my driveway staring at my phone thinking this is ridiculous, but I got competitive and ended up paying 80 dollars for a 4 year old mower. I won, but I also lost because I paid more than I wanted for something that might break next month. Has anyone else gotten pulled into a silly bidding war over something small like this?

80 bucks for a Troy-Bilt isn't terrible honestly. I'd have done the same.

Eighty dollars for a Troy-Bilt? That's barely used mower money. You got played by a seller who knew exactly what he was doing. Hope it starts first pull next spring.
