Totally get the wallet intervention thing. My friend was the same way, always paying for fancy barre classes until she finally tried a free park yoga thing on a whim. She said the vibe was actually way more chill, and now she laughs about how much she wasted, kind of like what @julia_henderson said about her gym being a donation. Has your friend ever made a switch like that?
