Found a $45 dented can haul at a salvage shop in Akron and it changed my meal prep

I stopped by this discount grocery place last Tuesday and they had a whole shelf of dented canned goods marked down to 50 cents each. I grabbed 90 cans of beans, tomatoes, and soup for about $45. The dents were all minor, no bulging or leaks. I sorted them into my pantry and I've been making dinners from that stash for two weeks now. My usual grocery bill for the same stuff wouldve been closer to $120. Has anyone else tried the salvage store route? How do you check cans safely without wasting time?

Man, 90 cans for $45 is a solid deal, no doubt about that. But I gotta gently point out that your math on the savings is a little off. If the same haul would've been $120, you saved $75, not the way you wrote it. That's still a win, but don't shortchange yourself when you're bragging later. For checking cans, I just look for rust, leaks, or any can that's swollen at the ends. You don't need to obsess over every dent, just give it a quick feel and move on. Spend more time on the soup cans since those have more liquid and can hide problems easier than beans.
