Vent: I thought those overnight bus rides were just for broke college kids.

Took one from Chicago to Minneapolis for $35 and actually slept fine with a neck pillow and eye mask. Now I'm looking at routes for my next trip instead of paying for a hotel night. Anyone have tips for picking a good seat on a long haul bus?

My last overnight bus from Denver was a nightmare, the guy next to me snored like a chainsaw the whole way. I'd rather pay for a hostel bunk and actually arrive rested.

Honestly, the hostel bunk idea falls apart pretty quick. You still have to pay for the travel to get there, and that's often the whole point of the overnight bus. It's one flat fee that covers your bed and your ride. A hostel bunk in a new city doesn't help you get to that city in the first place.
