Took me 2 days to figure out why my hostel bed kept sliding at 2am in Lisbon

I booked this cheap place near Alfama and every night the top bunk mattress would shift sideways, woke me up around 2am on the floor basically. Tried stuffing towels under it, nothing worked. Finally asked the front desk guy, he just pointed at the frame and said it's missing the little rubber stoppers, cost me 3 euros at a hardware store and fixed it in 5 minutes. Why do hostels never check those? Any budget sleepers got a trick for dodgy dorm beds that actually holds?

I read somewhere that duct tape on the frame corners works as a cheap fix, but honestly the rubber stoppers are the real answer.
