PSA: that $12 airport sandwich is a scam and I finally packed my own food
Flew out of O'Hare two weeks ago and paid $12 for a sad turkey wrap that I ate in four bites, then got hungry again before we even took off. So on my trip to Austin the next weekend I stuffed a ziplock bag with peanut butter sandwiches and a bag of baby carrots from the grocery store, total cost about $4. Saved myself almost $30 just between two flights and honestly nobody at security even looked twice at my food. Anyone else got a go-to cheap meal they sneak through TSA, or am I late to this whole thing?
