Wow that's incredible! 30 nights is serious hostel mileage. Private rooms or dorms? I did 12 last year and thought I was hot stuff haha. The key has to be booking direct for discounts and avoiding those $8 hostel beers.

Oh man, I gotta disagree with you on the booking direct thing. I've been burned too many times by hostels that claim they have "deals" if you call them up, only to find out the price is actually the same as online or worse. And those $8 hostel beers? That's actually a steal in a lot of places (like in Tokyo or Reykjavik where a pint can run you $15). I'd rather pay the small convenience fee on Hostelworld and have the booking locked in with a cancellation policy, you know? Plus the review system actually keeps places honest - had a hostel in Lisbon that was way sketchier than their direct-booking site made it seem. Private rooms are the move though, 100%.

Right? Isn't it funny how we all find these little things we're picky about, like booking a hostel, while we just accept other stuff without a second thought? It's like how I'll stress for an hour over picking a coffee shop but just let my streaming service auto-renew without even looking at the bill.
