Turned 40 last week and realized I'm now officially the old guy at work
I hit 40 on Tuesday and it finally hit me. I've been at my job for 12 years and most of the new hires are in their mid 20s. They talk about TikTok trends and I just nod along. When did I become the person who says 'back in my day' unironically? Any other Gen Xers suddenly feel like they aged 10 years overnight?

Oh man, I completely disagree with you on this one! I'm 42 and I Actually feel MORE confident at work now because I've seen enough cycles to know what matters and what's just noise. Being the seasoned person means you can help steer the young folks without getting caught up in every silly new trend.
