The day I realized I was the reason my truck ran like garbage
I spent six months chasing a rough idle on my F-150, swapped out spark plugs, cleaned the MAF sensor, even replaced the fuel filter. Turns out, I was just using the cheapest gas from that no-name station on 7th Street for two years straight because I thought 'gas is gas.' My buddy who runs a shop in Glendale finally told me, he says 'Holly, you've been running 87 octane with who knows how much ethanol in it.' I filled up at a Shell station last Tuesday and the truck smoothed out immediately. It made me wonder how many other things in my life I've been half-assing by picking the easy option instead of the right one. Did any of you guys have a 'wait, it was that simple?' moment with your car that made you feel dumb? Mine was 87 octane at $3.50 a gallon.
