Realized I was blaming millennials for everything. Then my son showed me something.
I spent years complaining millennials killed golf. But my 30-year-old son brought me to a par-3 course last weekend. It was packed with 20-somethings drinking craft beer and having a blast. Made me wonder if I was just mad at younger people for enjoying things differently.

The "mad at younger people for enjoying things differently" line really hit me. I think that's what it always boils down to, we just don't like how they have fun. And honestly, who cares if they're drinking craft beer while playing a short course? Sounds like a good time. Millennials didn't kill golf, they just made it their own. Good on your son for showing you a different side of things.

Topgolf made more money last year than half the country clubs in my area combined. Maybe the problem wasn't the game but the stuck up atmosphere that came with it. Let people have their beers and their 9 holes, golf will be fine.
