Rant: That cashier at the record store in 2018 made me feel ancient

I was buying a vinyl at this shop in Austin and the kid behind the counter asked if I wanted a 'digital download code' with it. When I said I just wanted the record, he looked at me like I had three heads. Honestly, has anyone else had that moment where you realize the younger generation thinks physical media is a weird antique?

Wait, you're seriously defending CDs skipping as the norm? Those things were practically coasters after a year of use, I had to rebuy half my collection. Vinyl scratches too, but at least the pops and cracks feel like part of the song, not a technical failure. Didn't you ever tape a penny to the top of the CD player to stop it from jumping?

That generation doesn't remember CDs skipping every time you hit a bump in the car, so they romanticize physical media WAY too much. Having a record skip because your floorboards creaked is NOT the vibe they think it is.
