My dad told me to buy a cheap set of screwdrivers and just replace them when they break

I bought a $15 set from Harbor Freight last year and snapped three bits trying to take apart an old laptop. Should I actually invest in something like a Wiha set or just keep buying cheap ones every few months?

Stick with the cheap ones but buy two sets so you have backups for the bits you snap. I got tired of stripping screws and rounded heads with those bargain bin sets. Saved up and bought a Wera set, night and day difference on the grip and fit. The tips actually hold tight in the screw slot instead of twisting out.

My dad used to just shove a flathead in place of the right bit and act like it was fine until the slot got all mangled up.
