My Boomer dad laughed at me for scanning receipts. Now he scans his too.
Last week my dad called me a fool for using that Fetch Rewards app. Said I was giving away my data for pennies. I just nodded and kept scanning. Three years ago I started scanning every receipt from the grocery store and gas station. Last month I cashed out $47 for a gift card. Dad saw the email confirmation on my phone and got real quiet. Now he asks me to scan his receipts when he visits. Has anyone else had an older relative change their tune about something they swore was a scam?

And that's exactly how it goes with the older generation... they gotta see the proof with their own eyes before they believe anything. My stepdad was the same way about coupon clipping until he watched me save $30 on a single grocery run. Now he keeps a little envelope in his car for receipts and brings them over every Sunday like it's church. The thing is once they see that real money coming back they're all in.

Yeah, @oliver2, that 'brings them over every Sunday like it's church' part got me. That's the thing people miss with the older crowd. It ain't about being stubborn or not trusting you. It's about knowing their time and money are limited. They've been burned by too many quick fixes and easy promises over the years. Once you show them a real, repeatable result that puts cash back in their pocket, they latch on hard. They'll defend that new habit fiercer than anyone because they had to be proved wrong first.
