Just saw a 70-year-old boomer pay $15 for a tiny avo toast in Brooklyn and blame Gen Z for inflation

I was grabbing coffee at this spot in Williamsburg last Saturday when this older dude got his avocado toast and started complaining to the cashier that "kids these days" ruined the economy. The cashier was like "sir, you ordered the gold-leaf version with smoked salmon." The dude just kept grumbling about student loans while eating his $15 toast. Has anyone else run into older folks paying for expensive stuff and then blaming younger generations for the cost?

That cashier nailed it though. I work near a place in the Lower East Side where a guy in his 60s drops $18 on a smoothie bowl every morning and then rants about how millennials can't afford homes. It's wild how some folks can't connect their own spending to the prices they're mad about. I get that everything costs more now, but you can't blame a 25 year old for your gold leaf habit. It just feels like a lot of older people want someone to point at instead of looking at their own choices. I really do feel for younger folks getting blamed for stuff that's way bigger than any one group.

Sounds like he paid $15 for a side of irony with that toast.
