Everyone blames Millennials for killing department stores but I saw a Boomer return a 5 year old sweater at Macy's last week.
I was standing in line at the customer service desk in the Cherry Creek Mall when this lady in her 70s demanded a full refund on a sweater that had actual holes in it, and when the clerk said no she started yelling about how she's 'been shopping here for 40 years' and then walked out without buying anything - has anyone else noticed their own generation doing stuff like this?

Couldn't agree more. I saw a lady at the Kohl's return desk last month with a purse that looked like it had been run over by a car - leather all worn down, straps frayed, and she wanted her money back. The cashier pointed out it was from like 2012 and she just kept saying "I'm a loyal customer" over and over until they caved. It's wild how they'll scream about customer service and then turn around and do this stuff themselves.

Loyal customer" is a magic phrase I swear, @mark_thomas, I just smile and say "I understand" until they let me make it right.
