TIL the reason I type so slow on my phone is my own dumb thumb, not the screen
Spent $40 on a new screen protector and a fancy keyboard app before realizing the real fix was that I keep hitting the space bar with the side of my thumb, so now I wanna know if anyone else switched to swipe typing and actually stuck with it or gave up after a week.

My brother had the total opposite problem where his thumbs were too big for the keyboard so he kept hitting two letters at once and sending texts that looked like a cat walked on his phone. He tried swipe typing for maybe three days and went right back to pecking because he said it kept guessing the wrong word and he got tired of fixing it. I gave swipe a real shot for about two weeks and honestly the thing that killed it for me was typing names or slang, it never knew what I meant and I'd end up deleting the whole sentence anyway. Now I just use one thumb and hold the phone steady with the other hand and somehow that fixed most of my typos. Weird how the simplest fix is usually the last one we try.
