Walked into a downtown barbershop charging $65 a cut and saw something that made me leave
I was in Denver for a wedding last weekend and popped into a shop on Larimer Street just to check out the vibe. The guy at the front desk had a tablet and asked if I wanted to book through their app for a $65 cut. I looked over at the chair and the barber was using a vacuum attachment on a guy's neck, not even a brush. There was a sign on the wall saying no walk ins after 5pm and nobody in the shop under 18. I get that rent is high and everyone has to make a living, but it felt more like a spa than a barbershop. I found a spot two blocks over charging $30 who did a better fade anyway. Is this just what downtown shops are turning into now, or did I just pick the wrong place?
