TIL a cheap hair dryer diffuser works just as well as the expensive salon ones

I was always skeptical about those $40 diffusers my barber buddies swore by. But my old one cracked after a drop, so I grabbed a $8 generic one off Amazon just to get by. Three months later and it dries my clients' curly hair just as even with no frizz. Has anyone else found a budget tool that surprised you?

Cheap tools are usually the ones that last the longest.

Funny how that works, right? I'm half convinced the expensive ones are just marked up because they put "salon grade" on the box. My last cheap diffuser actually had a tighter grip on the prongs than the fancier ones did (less wobble, more control). Go figure that the bargain bin special might actually be better engineered somehow. Though I did have one that melted on a low heat setting, so maybe it's a bit of a gamble. Still, the $8 one sounds like a steal if it's holding up three months in with clients.
