Switched from shears to clippers for my bald fades and it's way faster

I used to think shears gave a cleaner finish but after doing 4 bald fades in a row last Wednesday with just my Wahl clippers and a foil shaver, I cut my time by 15 minutes per head. Anyone else ditch the scissors for this?

Used to be a total shears snob honestly. Thought clippers couldn't give the same blend especially on the parietal ridge. But my buddy convinced me to try his Oster 76ers on a few clients and the time difference is night and day. Now I'm almost embarrassed how long I spent on a fade that could be done in half the time. The foil shaver cleanup at the end makes it look just as clean too.

Wait, you actually use Oster 76ers? I thought those things were like ancient relics from the 80s my grandpa used on sheep or something. Honestly never seen someone pull those off on a real client.

The time difference is real. I was skeptical too but once you get the hang of adjusting your clipper-over-comb technique with the 76ers, it's actually smoother for those long blend lines. The key is not fighting the weight - let the clipper do the work and keep your comb angle consistent. I still keep my Andis around for detailing near the ears and sideburns though. You tried using a trimmer to clean up the neckline after or do you go straight with the foil shaver?
