Spent 45 minutes trying to fade a guy's cowlick before I realized I was making it worse

Kid comes in with this wild swirl right at the crown and I'm over here going at it with my clippers for almost an hour before my coworker walks over and says 'dude just blend it with shears.' Has anyone else wasted way too long fighting a cowlick before giving up?

The real issue is nobody ever talks about how cowlicks are actually just your hair trying to tell you something about your skull shape. I got this one buddy who spent 20 years fighting a double cowlick on the back of his head before a barber finally told him it was because his skull was slightly lopsided. He shaved it all off that same day and never looked back. Sometimes the move isn't blending, it's just accepting that your hair has a secret agenda.

Ngl that explains why my own cowlick just spins in circles like it's confused about its life choices.

Wait did your buddy ever figure out if he had a weird skull shape too? Honestly my friend Kevin had a cowlick that made his hair stick up like he just got zapped, and he spent years trying to flatten it with gel. Turned out he had a small dent right on his crown that was basically making the hair stand at attention. He just buzzes it now and says it's the best decision he ever made.
