Hot take: I edged with a trimmer for 6 years before a guy at a shop in Boise asked to see my blade
I used to think my fades looked clean, but clients kept sitting down and running a hand up the back like something felt off. A barber in Boise asked to look at my blade angle mid-cut last March, and it was sitting at almost 90 degrees, which was basically scraping instead of cutting. He showed me how tipping it flatter made the blend disappear in one pass. I spent the next 2 weeks redoing every fade on my regulars just to retrain my hand. How do you all catch yourself when a bad habit has already been baked in for that long?
