A folded towel under the client's head fixed my neck pain after 6 months
I was getting this dull ache in my right shoulder by the end of every Saturday, usually around client number eight. I figured it was just part of the job and started stretching between cuts, which helped for about 10 minutes. Then a barber visiting from Fresno watched me work a skin fade and asked why the chair was cranked so high. Turns out I had it up near chest level, so my arm was reaching down all day instead of cutting level. I also started folding a towel under the headrest for shorter clients so I'm not hunched over looking down at the crown. Two weeks in and the shoulder thing is basically gone. Anyone else find their setup was quietly wrecking their body?
