A client's 12 year old called my straight razor 'an antique'
Last Saturday a kid walked in with his dad for a school dance trim, and when he saw me stropping my blade he said 'whoa, is that from like 1850?' I laughed it off, but his dad jumped in and said my whole setup reminded him of his grandpa's shop in Detroit, which got us talking for 20 minutes after the cut. It made me wonder how many of us are still doing the old school stuff that younger folks think is outdated, and how do you handle that moment when someone treats your craft like a museum piece?
