Showerthought: Sprinkling salt on brownies is better than frosting them

I was baking for a potluck in Denver last month and ran out of frosting. On a whim, I sprinkled some coarse sea salt on top of the brownies before they went in the oven. Everyone at the party kept asking what I did different because the salt brought out the chocolate flavor without all that sugary goop. Now I think frosting is just a lazy way to cover up dry brownies. Has anyone else tried this or am I the only one who thinks frosting is overrated?

My friend did this with flaky salt and her batch was gone in 10 minutes flat.
