Rant: I dropped $400 on a meal kit service and ate ramen for two weeks

I signed up for that fancy meal kit delivery after seeing an ad in Austin. It promised fresh ingredients and easy recipes, but every box showed up with wilted produce and tiny portions. I wasted $400 over three weeks and still had to hit the grocery store to actually fill up. My partner called it a subscription to disappointment and now we're scared to try any food delivery again. Anyone else get burned by one of these meal kits?

Actually I used to think people were just picky when they complained about these services, but after trying one last year I totally get it now. The recipes were decent but the portions were a joke and half the ingredients went bad before I even opened the box. Yeah that $400 could've bought a lot of actual groceries instead of frustration.
