Overheard a guy at Home Depot say he regretted buying the expensive tile saw, and now I'm rethinking my whole bathroom remodel.

He was talking to the clerk about how the cheap one he returned actually cut straighter because the blade guard didn't wobble. Made me cancel my order for the $400 model I had in my cart. Anyone else get talked out of a big tool purchase by a random stranger?

Yeah the expensive ones aren't always better honestly. I grabbed a mid range Rigid saw on clearance a few years back and it's still cutting straight with zero wobble. Sometimes those big price tags just mean more plastic parts that can flex.

@jesser79 isn't the real flex the table itself underneath the blade, not the motor or the fence?
