I used to post takes I actually held, and they got zero traction. He said nobody wants a mild take in a throwdown forum, so I started typing things like 'socks with sandals are peak comfort' just to watch the replies roll in. My reply count went from about 2 to 40 on a single post. Do you all argue harder when you know the poster is full of it, or does it not matter?
My buddy ran a fishing page and did the same thing. Posted real tips for two years, got like 5 likes a post. Then one day he wrote that live bait is for cowards and within an hour he had 200 comments of people calling him every name in the book. He told me the wild part was half those people agreed with him in private messages but would not say it out loud. People just love a fight more than a fact, man. He kept trolling for another year and his page blew up, but he said it got old fast because he could not tell who actually liked fishing anymore.
