I called the $90 aeropress a scam for coffee snobs, then my $15 drip maker died mid shift
So I manage a hardware store and our break room drip maker finally crapped out on a Saturday rush, right when the lumber crew needed caffeine. Enter the aeropress my brother left at my place 8 months ago that I'd been making fun of him for buying. I watched a 4 minute video, made 6 cups back to back, and every single one tasted better than the 3 year old drip pot we had. Now I'm the jerk in the break room preaching about water temp and bloom time to guys who just want black coffee. Anyway, is it actually the paper filters making it smooth or am I just hooked on the ritual? Someone please tell me I don't need the metal one too.
