Heard a guy at the hardware store say you should never use pressure treated wood for raised garden beds

I was picking up gravel yesterday and this older guy goes on about how pressure treated lumber from before 2004 was bad but the new stuff is fine. He said he's been using it for his vegetable boxes for 8 years and his soil tests always come back clean. I actually looked into it after and found the EPA okayed it for residential use back in 2004. If the guy's soil is testing fine after almost a decade, why do people still push for cedar or composite that costs 3 times as much? Has anyone here actually tested their soil after using modern pressure treated wood?

My neighbor built a greenhouse with the new pressure treated stuff back in 2010 and his tomato plants are still going strong every year. He never tested his soil but I figure that's good enough proof for me.

Yeah @iris574, my buddy did the same thing with some old railway ties and his squash is huge every year lol.
