Found out the hard way that dishwashers have a filter you need to clean
My kitchen started smelling like a wet dog for two weeks straight until I googled it and pulled out this nasty ring of sludge from the bottom. Spent 45 minutes scrubbing it with an old toothbrush and now the dishes come out actually clean. How often are you supposed to clean that thing without being a weirdo about it?

OH FOR REAL. I used to think the same way honestly. Like once something gets that gunk on it it's just a permanent part of the thing forever. But then I tried cleaning one of my old ones with just some isopropyl alcohol and a qtip and it was SO gross how much came off but it worked perfectly. Now I do it like every couple months and it's brand new each time. It's honestly kind of satisfying in a weird way.

Wait is it actually that easy?? I had an old one that I just threw away last year because I thought it was dead forever. I'm definitely trying the alcohol thing now. Honestly the satisfaction of seeing all that gunk come off sounds kind of worth it even if mine isn't that bad yet.
