Dropped $200 on a fancy bread machine and the bread came out worse than the $20 thrift store one

I bought a Zojirushi last month because everyone online said they're the best. The loaf was dense and had a weird rubbery crust. My old Sunbeam from Goodwill makes better sandwich bread. Anyone else get burned by a pricey kitchen gadget?

Read that Zojirushi needs super precise measuring or it flops hard.

And @barbaraw47 is right, even a few extra grains threw my rice off completely...
