Can we talk about how my freezer thermometer showed 12 degrees for a whole month?
I found out my freezer was actually running at 12 degrees Fahrenheit instead of 0 after I checked the thermometer I got from a kitchen supply store last week. Has anyone else had a similar issue where their appliance was way off the setting they thought it was on?

12 degrees is way off but thermometers can be wrong too. I had a cheap one that said 10 degrees once and my freezer was actually at 20. So the real question is did you check it against ice water first? Ice water should read 32 degrees if the thermometer is accurate. If yours passes that test then yeah your freezer has a real problem. But if you didn't test it you might just have a bad thermometer.

Yeah the ice water test is key, I tested mine and it passed but the freezer was still off by 12 degrees.
