Pro tip: Don't name your cat after a body part, my vet still brings it up
When my girlfriend brought home a stray kitten from a parking lot in Dallas, I wanted to name him Kevin. She wanted to name him Nipple. I lost that fight and now I have to say 'Nipple, get off the counter' at least 5 times a day. The lady at the vet actually laughed out loud when she called our name last month, and my neighbor thinks I'm running some kind of weird operation out of my apartment. So tell me, has anyone else lost the naming battle this bad, and did you just live with it or start calling the pet something else behind your partner's back?
Ever try just using a nickname in public and letting her have the official name? We did the same thing with our cat, my wife named him Pants and I started calling him P-Man around company so I stopped getting weird looks. The trick is to keep the silly name at home and use the nickname everywhere else, saves you from the awkward vet calls.
