My vet tech buddy renamed my cat mid-visit and now I can't stop calling him that
My buddy Dan works at a clinic in Boise and he came over last month for a barbecue. He met my orange tabby, whose shelter name was Sir Reginald Fluffington III, and I told him we mostly just call him Reggie. Dan watched him knock a full glass of sweet tea off the table, stare at the puddle, then walk away, and he goes 'that is not a Reggie, that is a Larry.' It hit different because he was right. Reggie sounded like a guy with a job and a 401k. Larry is a dude who eats drywall and yells at 4am for no reason. I started calling him Larry as a joke and now it's been 5 weeks and he actually answers to it. Has anyone else had a friend rename their pet on the spot and the new name just stuck forever?
Did Dan say why Larry fit so well after just watching him that one time? Like did he know another Larry before that did the exact same thing? Curious if the name came from somewhere real or he just pulled it out of thin air.
