My neighbor has 11 cats and named every single one after a pasta shape, I counted
Honestly I thought she was joking when she said Fusilli was stuck under the porch again, but no, she has Rigatoni, Penne, Farfalle, and 7 more running around her duplex in Amarillo. I went over to help fix a screen door and she introduced them all by name like it was a class roll call, even little Ditalini who bites. Tbh the worst part is they all actually respond to it, which feels unfair since my dog ignores me when I call him Max. Rotini is the fat orange one and he owns the whole couch, no debate. Do you guys think food names are lazy or actually elite, cause I'm torn.
even little Ditalini who bites" is killing me cause of course the tiny one is the biter, thats always how it goes lol. But to answer your question, food names are elite and its not even close. The cats responding to them proves it, thats the whole test right there, an animal only learns a name if the humans actually use it enough. Your dog ignores you cause Max is a boring name and he knows it, hes not gonna come running for a name that half the dogs in Amarillo already have. I'd honestly be proud to live next to a lady with that much commitment, 11 cats is a lot but naming them all pasta shapes takes real dedication. Rotini owning the couch checks out too, orange cats always think they run the place.
