Watched the 2010 Nightmare on Elm Street remake last night and felt cheated

My buddy told me the original is way better because Robert Englund actually brought humor to Freddy, and I gotta admit after seeing that remake I totally get what he meant now. Anyone else feel like that remake just missed the whole point of what made Freddy scary?

My buddy Dave watched it cold, no warning, and after he said "that remake just missed the whole point" I told him to try the original. He fell asleep halfway through and woke up when the credits were rolling. Said it felt like watching a bad cover band play their greatest hits.

Lol nah I gotta disagree, I actually think the remake did something interesting by stripping away all the jokes. Freddy was never really that scary to me in the originals once he started cracking one-liners.
