The RoboCop 2014 remake tried too hard to be serious and failed
My buddy Mark swore the 2014 RoboCop remake was 'decent' and had some good action scenes. We watched it last weekend and I spent the whole movie waiting for it to get good. They stripped out all the dark humor that made the 1987 original work. Has anyone else noticed how these gritty reboots miss the point of the original?

The 2014 RoboCop was like ordering a pizza and getting a plate of dry crackers instead. Mark owes me a pizza for convincing me to watch that serious sad robot movie. Verhoeven's original knew how to have fun with its dumb violent premise, this one just forgot to laugh at itself.

Man, my buddy actually fell asleep halfway through watching the 2014 one and woke up to the ending credits. He said it was like a sad robot funeral, no laughs at all.
