The guy at the video store who yelled at me for liking the 2016 Ghostbusters
I was at Family Video in Akron last April grabbing a few movies for the weekend. This older dude in the horror aisle overheard me talking to my friend about how I actually liked the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot. He got all red in the face and started going on about how it ruined his childhood and how the jokes were trash. I told him I thought Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon were funny and he just walked away shaking his head. Has anyone else had a stranger get mad at them for defending a bad remake?

My buddy Mark had almost the exact same thing happen at a Blockbuster in Columbus back in 2016. He was grabbing the Ghostbusters reboot for a movie night and this random lady behind him started telling him he was wasting his money on a "woke disaster." She actually followed him to the counter and kept going until the cashier told her to chill out. He still says it was the weirdest interaction he's ever had at a rental place.

Wow, that sounds super intense! I can't believe a grown man yelled at you in a video store over a movie, that's wild. Even if he didn't like the reboot, it's just a movie, not a personal attack on his childhood. I saw it too and thought Kate McKinnon was hilarious, she totally stole the show for me. People get way too worked up over stuff like this, it's not like the original Ghostbusters movies vanished from existence or something. Sorry you had to deal with that, some folks just can't handle different opinions.
