Just crossed 50 remakes watched and the 2010 Clash of the Titans still makes me the angriest

I kept a list since 2009 of every major remake that hit theaters and after hitting 50 this weekend, that Clash one stands out because they took a fun 80s fantasy movie and drained every bit of soul out of it with bad CGI and wooden acting, and the worst part is nobody asked for a darker grittier version of Perseus fighting a kraken, so has anyone else tracked their remake viewing count and found one that makes you more mad than this?

Whoa wait, you've actually kept a LIST since 2009?? That's wild dedication! I can't get past how they made Medusa look like a rejected video game boss. The original had that charming claymation feel that was actually scary.

omg same @paigep20, I felt the exact same way about Medusa. That whole design looked like something from a 2010s video game trailer, all glossy and fake. I started keeping my own list around the same time actually, back in 2011, but for movies that completely missed the point of the original. The claymation in the old one was rough but it had soul, you know? Compare that to the slick, empty CGI remake we got and it's night and day. It's not about being a hater, it's about seeing something special get flattened into corporate product.

Dude it's a remake of a movie based on a myth that's been told for thousands of years. The original 80s one wasn't exactly Oscar bait either. I get being annoyed by bad CGI but keeping a tally for 15 years feels like a lot of emotional energy to spend on a 2010 action flick.
