I finally watched the 2015 Point Break remake and I need to vent

I rented it off Amazon last weekend thinking it couldn't be that bad. The original had that raw energy with Keanu and Swayze, you know? This new one turned extreme athletes into FBI agents doing crazy stunts for no reason. They took out all the friendship drama and bank robbery tension. Has anyone else sat through this thing and felt like they just watched a Red Bull commercial?

I ended up watching it on a plane out of boredom and man... the scene where they're surfing those insane waves in Tahiti looked cool I guess but it just felt hollow. The original had that build up in the bank heist where you actually cared about Bodhi's crew. This one they're just jumping off cliffs and wingsuit flying through canyons with no real stakes. I remember thinking during the motorcycle chase part that it was just a bunch of expensive stunt reels stitched together with the thinnest plot possible.

The Tahiti surfing was the only part that even caught my attention, and even then I was just waiting for something real to happen. I watched it on a flight too and spent half the time looking out the window instead.
