Remember when they tried to reboot Charlie's Angels a few years back? The trailers were everywhere for months. By the time it actually came out, everyone was just tired of hearing about it. The movie itself felt like a hollow copy, and all that built up talk just made the letdown way bigger. Sometimes the marketing team builds a mountain out of a molehill before the thing even has a chance to stand on its own.
