Hot take: I found out Jaws 2 was almost directed by a guy who'd only done TV commercials, no wonder it felt like a 2 hour ad
My buddy pulled up the trivia on his phone at a bar in Denver and I nearly choked on my wings when I saw the studio passed on actual horror directors to hand the sequel to a commercial guy, so did anyone else know this or am I just late to the party?

Watched a doc about that exact thing and yeah, the whole sequel felt like it was shot to sell you something (mostly sunscreen and boats). Learned to just check who's in the director's chair before I get hyped for a follow up.
