Appreciation post: picking the original Total Recall over the remaster

I was stuck deciding between the 1990 Total Recall and the 2012 Colin Farrell version for movie night with my buddy. We went with the original and it was way more fun, especially the three-breasted mutant scene that still holds up. Has anyone else tried the remaster and regretted it?

Hold on, wasn't the 2012 version a remake, not a remaster? A remaster is when they clean up the old movie, fix the sound and picture. The 2012 Total Recall is a whole new movie, a reboot. I watched it once and it was fine, I guess, but it doesn't hold a candle to the original. The original has that weird, sweaty, practical feel to it that you just don't get with modern CGI.
