Tried swapping out a Frigidaire ice maker vs a Samsung one and I ain't going back

Spent last Saturday wrestling with a Samsung ice maker in a 2021 model fridge in Akron and it took me 4 hours just to get the stupid auger assembly lined up right. Did a Frigidaire unit for a neighbor earlier that week in 45 minutes flat with no cursing. Why do they make these things so impossible to work on?

Right, so @the_kevin nailed it with that epoxy thing? I had a Samsung from around 2018 and the ice maker just quit making ice, no error codes or nothing. Took me three hours to figure out the freeze sensor was glued in place too, like they used construction adhesive from Home Depot. I had to chip it off with a flathead screwdriver and I chipped the plastic housing, which meant I had to order a whole new assembly anyway. The harness plug on mine was tucked behind a bracket so you could barely get your fingers in there to snap it back in. I swear Samsung engineers design these things like they get a bonus for every hour a homeowner cries.

...and then when you finally get the Samsung one back together you realize you forgot to plug the harness back in so you gotta undo everything again. I had a 2019 model where the ice maker just stopped freezing one day, and I spent a whole Saturday taking it apart just to find out the thermostat was glued on with some kind of epoxy from the factory. Stuff like that makes me think the engineers never actually had to fix one of these things themselves.
