That LG fridge compressor swap that took me 8 hours

I had a 2020 LG linear compressor job last Tuesday that should have been a 2 hour fix. Turned out the control board had a cracked solder joint nobody caught, so after swapping the compressor I still had no cooling. Has anyone else burned a whole day on something that should have been simple?

Heard a guy on a podcast say LG's been rushing circuit boards out the door with bad QC since 2019... sounds like you got bit by that exact mess.

Wait, didnt that podcast say 2020 was when the mess really started tho? I remember seeing some teardown vids where the 2019 boards actually looked okay, it was the 2020 models that had those thin traces and bad solder joints. My buddy's still running a 2019 C9 without issues, but his 2020 CX died after 14 months. I think Linda mixed up the years a little, the bad QC wave definitely hit harder with the CX and C1 lines around 2020-2021.
