That $180 Samsung washer call taught me to check the drain hose clamp first
Last Tuesday I got a call for a Samsung front loader in Garland that would not drain, and the homeowner had already paid someone $180 to swap the pump. I pulled the back panel off in his garage, ran a test cycle, and heard water gurgling, so I reached down and felt the drain hose clamp was loose enough to let air in, making the pump look dead when it was fine. I tightened that clamp for free, ran a rinse and spin, and it drained in about 90 seconds while he just stood there. He asked if I wanted the old pump back, and I told him to keep it since it was probably still good. Curious how many of you check the simple stuff first when a homeowner swears the pump is gone?
